This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Agnes Jones, 84 years old, born on January 2, 1937, and passed away on September 4, 2021. We will remember her forever.
Agnes Larnice Jones was born on January 2, 1937 in Cedarville, Md; she was the daughter of the late Joseph Kelso Proctor and Marie Virginia Proctor. On Saturday, September 04, 2021, Agnes, affectionately known as Babysis departed from this life and received her heavenly wings. Agnes was educated by Prince George County Public Schools; attended Cortez Peters Business School, of Washington DC, where she received her degree for successfully completing the course in speed typing and shorthand. Agnes would later pursue a career with Bell Atlantic/C & P Telephone Co. now known as Verizon, where she was gainfully employed as an Administrator. Agnes retired in 1994, after 21 years of service, received an honorable award for her many accomplishments during her tenure. Agnes enjoyed spending quality time with her children and grandchildren as well as other family members and friends; she mastered her passionate hobby of crafting and making flower arrangements and eventually became an entrepreneur, servicing funeral homes, retail stores, doctor’s offices, and family and friends. During her self-employment, Agnes dedicated her time to her son Anthony Tyrone until he passed. Agnes was a very loving, caring, and dedicated mother, aunt, sister, and friend to many. She had a immense sense of fashion all while wearing her dazzling jewelry. Her love for her family exuded through her love for cooking. There was not a day or night that you couldn’t come to her home, sit at her dinner table and receive a good meal. Agnes was preceded in death by Lorraine Frazier(daughter),Anthony T. Harper(son) Sharon Gail Harper(daughter), Preston C. Longs (brother),Joseph L. Proctor (brother), Sylvia M. Smith (sister), Cora Pinkney Robinson (Maternal Grandmother), Joseph Robinson (Maternal Grandfather), Susanna Butler Proctor (Grandmother) and Michael Proctor (Grandfather). Agnes married the love of her life, Dr. Gary Jones also affectionately known as Poppy, Bozzo and Ricky (predeceased), together Agnes and Gary celebrated 38 years of marriage while raising all of their children and grandchildren. Prior to them settling down, they took amazing trips, had amazing family gatherings, and loved to take on the night with flare. The love that they had for each other was unprecedented and exuded the true definition of love. Agnes leaves to cherish her memory; 4 daughters and 1 son: Cynthia D. Watkins, Sheila L. Harper, Beverly J. Harper, Patsy A. Harper and Jeffrey A. Harper; 15 grandchildren 24 great grandchildren, 3 sisters and 1brother; Elsie E. Pinkney, Elva A. Greene, Peggy A. Proctor and James M. Proctor; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and acquaintance. Visitation will be held on Saturday September 25, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until Homegoing Service 11:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home Chapel 20605 Aquasco Road Aquasco, Maryland 20608. Interment Heritage Cemetery Waldorf, Maryland.
